There’s a new kid in town.
Shot in only 20 days with a crew of 14 people, Tomboy is based on a simple synopsis yet succeeds to be much more than just a story about young teens and their existential concerns. Laure, a 10-year-old girl, has just moved in a new town, offering her an opportunity to become someone else - or actually a way to finally be herself. Step by step, she experiences being Mikaël, wearing boyish clothes, spitting out on the ground, getting into fights…but how long will her fake identity last?
Thanks to a beautiful photography and amazing acting performances (actress Zoé Héran who plays Laure/Mickaël was found on the first day of casting + incredibly cute Malonn Lévana recently seen in Polisse by Maïwenn as well), Tomboy belongs to those fresh indie films that will leave you enchanted and nostalgic of your own childhood memories.
